dedicated to my father
These photos are from a project that was inspired by my father. A cancer survivor, minister/chaplain, the man that adopted me, my hero, my rock. In 2014 I had gotten as a gift from my manager for music a canon 5D mark iii. His name was Yoni Cohen and is no longer with us. Without him this would not be. But, it is and so very grateful to him. My father when visiting wanted to see the camera and upon showing him he quickly asked what I owed him. Going back and forth a couple of times I took the lens cap off and pointed the camera at him. When I saw the pic and shared it with him, we laughed a good solid laugh. Once I returned home it was then when I turned it black and white the idea came. My father is a huge fan of Johnny Cash and has the famous flip pic from San Quentin. Looking closer, was shot in 1969 the year I was born. It was the beginning and Lily Alderidge was the first A lister to flip me off and it began.
Thank you Yoni, thank you dad, and finally Lily and all who flipped me off.
